Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Springfield, Missouri, you'll join our Professional Styling team for hands-on training through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. Under supervision, develop safe technical skills in bathing, brushing, nail trims, and full grooming services. Uphold our vision of exceptional pet parent experiences, store cleanliness, and pet safety while advancing your career in pet care.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver best-in-class salon services including full grooming menus and standalone options like teeth brushing. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct reminder calls, and handle check-in/out procedures. Promote sales growth by recommending merchandise and services. Maintain salon sanitation per checklists, respond to pet health issues, and assist other departments as needed. Follow all company policies for a safe, humane environment.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart’s Salon Academy completion and safety certification required. Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Excel in high-pressure settings with strong communication, organization, and attention to detail. Be flexible for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise environment with depth perception needs.
