Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Located in St George, Utah, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Develop safe technical skills meeting company expectations while under supervision.
• Enhance pet parent experience through greetings, consultations, reservations, check-in/out, and reminder calls.
• Drive salon sales by recommending merchandise, services, and wellness solutions.
• Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
• Assist other departments and adhere to all policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organization, communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, wet environment with moderate noise. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
