Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Starkville, Mississippi, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and pets to deliver best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage reservations, check-ins/outs, and reminder calls. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, maintain salon cleanliness, and ensure humane conditions. Assist with sick/injured pets and other store duties as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, communication abilities, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment.
