Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee in our Stuart, Florida location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging with pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Successful completion of PetSmart’s Grooming Academy advances you to Pet Stylist in Training.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, maintain client records, and promote services to drive salon sales. Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and pet safety standards, including end-of-day maintenance and emergency response. Assist in other departments as needed and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; technical exam may be required. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy training and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organizational abilities, communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50+ lbs, stand for shifts, work in wet/hairy environments with moderate to high noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays essential.
