Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide top-tier salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to build a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness products and services to meet pet needs and drive salon sales.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Assist in other departments and participate in our culture of Belonging and Recognition.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organization, communication, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
