Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, ensure pet safety, and assist other departments as needed. Follow all company policies for a humane, sanitary environment.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification required. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, working in wet/noisy conditions with pet hair. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays essential. Computer proficiency for client records and reservations.

- Recommend health and wellness solutions to pet parents
