Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll learn from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams through our renowned Grooming Academy. Under supervision, deliver best-in-class salon services while ensuring pet safety, store cleanliness, and exceptional pet parent experiences. This entry-level position builds foundational skills for a thriving career in pet grooming.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, and drive salon sales.
• Maintain impeccable salon hygiene, conduct end-of-day cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Handle check-ins/outs, reservations, client records, and immediate action for sick/injured pets.
• Assist other departments and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
