Role Overview
Our Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on learning from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide top-tier salon services under supervision while upholding our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and exceptional customer experiences. This entry-level position is perfect for animal lovers eager to launch a rewarding grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Build safe technical skills and recommend wellness solutions to pet parents.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, client consultations, and sales promotion.
- Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
- Assist with sick/injured pets, work across departments, and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, composure under pressure, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a dynamic pet environment.
