Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety, parent satisfaction, and salon excellence. This entry-level position builds foundational skills for a rewarding career in pet grooming.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per company standards.
• Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
• Recommend wellness solutions, promote services/merchandise, and drive salon sales targets.
• Uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
• Assist other departments and follow all company policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs. Passion for pets and composure under pressure required.
