Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves learning industry-best grooming techniques while engaging pet parents and ensuring positive salon experiences. Uphold our vision of pet safety, cleanliness, and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, deliver full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, recommend wellness solutions, and promote services to hit sales targets. Maintain salon sanitation, monitor pet health, and assist across store departments as needed. Follow all company policies for a safe, humane environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure. Be flexible with evenings, weekends, holidays; proficient in computers; capable of lifting 50+ lbs with depth perception for safe pet handling.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach, and lift frequently in a fast-paced salon setting. Team lift heavier loads; reasonable accommodations available.
