Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role builds foundational skills in delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards. Located in Trinity, Florida, this position offers a dynamic start in pet care with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Engage pet parents to recommend solutions, manage appointments, maintain client records, and drive salon sales. Ensure salon cleanliness and humane conditions, respond to pet health issues, and assist other store departments as needed. Follow all company policies for a safe, welcoming environment.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, strong communication, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in computers required, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a pet hair-filled, moderate-noise salon.
