Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Tsawwassen, BC location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding pet safety and store standards. Ideal for animal lovers eager to launch a grooming career.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, maintain client records, and recommend wellness solutions. Ensure salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist with pet health issues by transporting to vets if needed. Follow all company policies and support other departments as required.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply); must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure essential. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays required. Physical demands include standing, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, team lifting over 100 lbs, and specific vision for depth perception.
