Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Tucson, Arizona, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote sales, recommend wellness solutions, ensure salon cleanliness, and assist with sick/injured pets. Flexibility to support other store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organizational skills, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Physical ability to stand, lift 50+ lbs, work in wet/noisy environments, and handle evenings/weekends/holidays required.
