Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, you'll receive hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a skilled Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/check-outs, and make reminder calls. Recommend wellness solutions, promote sales to hit targets, and maintain impeccable salon cleanliness. Ensure pet safety by identifying issues and assisting with vet transport if needed. Flexibly support other store areas as required.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and composure under pressure. Proficiency in computers, physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, and work in a pet-hair-filled, noisy environment. Flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays essential.
