Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams, learning industry-best grooming techniques. This entry-level role, obtained after completing PetSmart Grooming Academy, involves engaging pet parents, delivering top-tier salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and maintain client records. Promote salon sales, recommend wellness solutions, ensure salon cleanliness per maintenance checklists, and assist with pet health issues by transporting to vets as needed. Participate in store-wide duties and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred with a possible technical exam. Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Key skills include pet handling, customer service, organizational prowess, communication, and physical ability to lift 50+ pounds in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate to high noise levels.
