Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll provide best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensure pet safety, and deliver exceptional pet parent experiences while contributing to store cleanliness and sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
• Build safe technical skills and recommend wellness solutions based on pet needs.
• Handle check-ins, check-outs, reservations, reminder calls, and client consultations.
• Maintain salon sanitation, perform daily cleaning, and ensure humane pet conditions.
• Drive salon sales, promote merchandise, and assist in other store departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seeking flexible candidates with strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to thrive under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping, and depth perception. Proficiency in computer applications required; evenings, weekends, and holidays essential.
