Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's expert styling teams after completing our Grooming Academy. Gain industry-leading skills in bathing, grooming, and pet care while ensuring positive experiences for pets and parents. This entry-level role builds your expertise in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Under supervision, deliver full grooming services like baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards.
- Build safe technical skills exceeding company expectations.
- Enhance pet parent experience via consultations, reservations, check-ins/outs, and sales recommendations.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Drive salon sales, promote merchandise, and assist other store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
PetSmart prioritizes passion for pets over extensive experience. Prior grooming a plus (technical exam may apply). Required: Completion of PetSmart Salon Academy and safety certification, computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong communication, organization, and ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment with moderate noise.

- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays (experience)
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet environment (experience)
Responsibilities
