Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our Vienna, West Virginia location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role focuses on developing safe technical grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services and positive pet parent experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, maintain client records, and promote sales to achieve targets. Ensure salon cleanliness, pet safety, and humane conditions, with immediate action for sick/injured pets. Assist other departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, organizational skills, and composure under pressure required. Must stand, lift 50+ lbs, work evenings/weekends/holidays, and handle wet, noisy environments with pet hair.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair environment (experience)

- Manage pet parent interactions, reservations, check-in/out, and client records
