Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Waldorf, Maryland, you'll join our Professional Styling team for hands-on training through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. Under supervision, develop expert grooming skills while delivering exceptional salon services, ensuring pet safety and positive pet parent experiences. This entry-level role offers a clear path to becoming a certified Pet Stylist.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per company standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, check-ins/outs, and maintain client records.
- Recommend wellness solutions and promote services/merchandise to drive salon sales.
- Uphold salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane pet conditions daily.
- Respond to pet health issues and assist across store departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. Successful candidates demonstrate pet handling skills, customer service prowess, physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs), schedule flexibility, and strong communication. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure are essential.
