Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee in Waxahachie, Texas, you'll join our Professional Styling team for hands-on training through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. Under supervision, develop safe technical skills in bathing, brushing, and full grooming services while ensuring pet safety and exceptional pet parent experiences. This entry-level role builds toward Pet Stylist certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full menu of supervised grooming services per PetSmart standards.
- Greet pet parents, manage appointments, and conduct check-in/out procedures.
- Maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and humane conditions daily.
- Recommend wellness solutions and promote salon sales to meet targets.
- Assist with sick/injured pets and collaborate across departments.
Physical Demands
Stand, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in wet/hairy environments with moderate to high noise.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy and safety certification. Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure required. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays essential. Proficiency in computer applications and attention to pet safety detail.
