Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in West Palm Beach, Florida, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams through PetSmart’s Grooming Academy. This entry-level role involves engaging pet parents, delivering best-in-class salon services under supervision, and upholding our vision for pet safety and customer satisfaction. Ideal for passionate animal lovers ready to launch a grooming career.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care while supervised.
- Develop safe technical skills meeting PetSmart’s standards.
- Enhance pet parent experience through consultations, reservations, check-ins, and rebooking.
- Maintain salon cleanliness and humane conditions; respond to pet health issues immediately.
- Drive sales by recommending services and merchandise to achieve targets.
- Assist in other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred but not required—complete our Salon Academy for certification. You need strong communication, organizational skills, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs in a fast-paced, pet-filled environment. Proficiency in computers and composure under pressure are essential.
