Role Overview

As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) in our West Vancouver location, you'll receive hands-on training from our experienced Professional Styling teams. After successfully completing PetSmart’s Grooming Academy, you'll engage with pet parents and their pets, delivering best-in-class salon services while upholding our vision, mission, values, and pet safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, conduct check-ins/outs, and recommend wellness solutions. Maintain salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist in other departments as needed. Ensure immediate action for sick/injured pets and follow all policies.

Experience & Skills

Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Must complete PetSmart’s Salon Academy and safety certification. Seek candidates with computer proficiency, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, strong organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, and excellent communication skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs (team lift over 100 lbs), standing, stooping, and depth perception.
