Role Overview

The Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training) role offers hands-on training from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll deliver best-in-class salon services under supervision, ensuring pet safety, parent satisfaction, and salon excellence. This entry-level position builds foundational skills for a rewarding career in pet grooming.

Key Responsibilities

Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, teeth brushing, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Engage pet parents to recommend wellness solutions, manage appointments, reservations, check-ins/outs, and client records. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, promote sales to hit targets, and assist other departments as needed. Prioritize pet safety, reporting issues immediately, and uphold company policies.

Experience & Skills

Successful PetSmart Salon Academy completion and safety certification required. Prior grooming experience preferred (technical exam may apply). Need proficiency in computers, strong communication, organization, attention to detail, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, stooping in a pet hair-filled, moderately noisy environment.
