Role Overview
As a Pet Groomer Trainee (Pet Stylist in Training), you'll receive hands-on guidance from PetSmart's experienced Professional Styling teams. After completing the PetSmart Grooming Academy, you'll engage pet parents, deliver best-in-class salon services, and uphold our vision for pet safety and satisfaction in our Woodbury, MN location.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform full grooming services including baths, brushes, nail trims, and sanitary care per PetSmart standards. Greet pet parents, manage appointments, recommend wellness solutions, and promote services to boost salon sales. Maintain impeccable salon cleanliness, ensure pet safety, and assist across store departments as needed. Handle sick/injured pets promptly and follow all company policies.
Experience & Skills
Prior grooming experience preferred; complete our Salon Academy training and safety certification. Demonstrate safe technical skills, composure under pressure, and proficiency in computer applications. Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail required. Physically capable of standing, lifting 50+ lbs, and working in a wet, pet hair-filled environment with moderate to high noise.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in pet hair environment (experience)
