Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales while upholding company values. This dynamic role combines animal expertise, customer service, and education in a fun retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions via phone, in-person, or online, ensuring pet parent satisfaction.
- Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a safe, clean training area.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, collaborate across departments, and recognize team sales efforts.
- Follow policies, participate in Belonging culture, and recommend merchandise/services.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Must excel in communication, organization, composure under pressure, and lifting up to 50lbs in a pet-filled environment with moderate noise.
