Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences using our proven curriculum. You'll engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and act as the store's training expert. This role requires flexibility, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online while managing pet parent expectations and concerns.
• Actively promote and sell training programs, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and clean, safe class environments.
• Handle sick/injured pets promptly, recommend services, and assist other departments.
• Recognize team contributions and follow company policies.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, holidays required.
