Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision and curriculum. You'll proactively educate on training benefits, sell classes across channels, and ensure safe, welcoming environments in our Ajax store.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns and driving outcomes.
- Sell training classes and related merchandise while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Act as training expert for store associates and recognize their sales contributions.
- Respond to sick/injured pets, assist other departments, and uphold company policies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments.
