Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Albany, New York, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and outstanding customer service. This role suits animal lovers with retail experience ready to excel in a dynamic pet retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Serve as training expert for store associates and recognize their sales contributions.
• Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.

Physical Demands

Stand/walk extensively, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure.

Experience & Skills

• 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
• PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation required.
• Strong communication, organization, computer skills; composure under pressure; flexible scheduling.
