Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per our proven curriculum. This role combines education, sales, and hands-on pet care in a dynamic store environment, ensuring safe, fun experiences while driving training program success.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training classes, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
• Actively promote and sell group/private classes, educating on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training area.
• Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, collaborating with vets as needed.
• Cross-train associates as pet training expert and assist other departments.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Excel with strong communication, organization, computer skills, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise—flexible scheduling required.
