Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Allentown, PA, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits; maintain all related paperwork.
- Schedule classes per company guidelines; create safe, clean training environments.
- Recognize team contributions, handle sick/injured pets, and recommend merchandise/services.
- Assist other departments, follow policies, and participate in recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience
- PetSmart Training Instructor Course accreditation
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays
- Strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure
- Computer proficiency; physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals
Work Environment
Moderate noise with pet hair/wet areas; exposure to live animals and occasional heavy lifting.
