Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in our Amsterdam, New York store, you'll engage pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and ensure safe, clean environments while contributing to our culture of Belonging and Recognition.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and merchandise; educate on full curriculum benefits.
• Maintain paperwork, schedule classes per company guidelines, and keep training areas clean/safe.
• Handle sick/injured pets immediately, including vet transport if needed.
• Train fellow associates as pet training expert and assist other departments as required.

Experience & Skills

Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Must lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays. Exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments common; reasonable accommodations available.
