Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and outstanding customer service in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedules per company guidelines.
• Create safe, clean environments for classes and store areas; handle sick/injured pets immediately.
• Recognize associates for training sales contributions and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays) are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas.
