Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services using our proven curriculum, engages pet parents, and drives sales to enhance pet lives. This role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, and store collaboration in a fast-paced pet retail setting. Ideal for animal lovers with retail experience seeking flexible, rewarding work.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, addressing concerns and delivering training outcomes.
• Proactively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits across channels.
• Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and ensure safe, clean training areas.
• Act as training expert for store associates, recognize contributions, and handle pet emergencies including vet transport.
• Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments while upholding company policies.

Experience & Skills

Requires 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organizational skills. Must handle pressure, lift 50+ lbs, and work flexible hours including evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include standing, pet handling in moderate-noise environments with animals.
