Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Training Instructor engages pet parents and pets to deliver positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, and values. You'll educate on training benefits, sell classes across channels, and ensure safe, clean environments while contributing to store success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns and driving training sales.
- Educate associates as the local pet training expert and recognize contributions to sales.
- Maintain safety by monitoring pets, handling emergencies like vet transport, and keeping areas presentable.
- Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as needed.
- Follow all policies, participate in Belonging & Recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, schedule flexibility, and strong communication/organizational skills. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, and moderate noise.

- Maintain training paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe
- Handle sick/injured pets with immediate action including vet transport if needed
- Collaborate across departments, recognize associates, and uphold company policies
