Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Ankeny, Iowa, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and outstanding customer service in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; resolve concerns promptly.
- Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
- Ensure safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and recognize team contributions.
Experience & Skills
Seeking candidates with 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Must thrive under pressure, stay organized, and flex schedule for evenings, weekends, holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
