Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive training experiences, educates pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. You'll engage customers in-store, online, or by phone, sell classes, and ensure safe, clean training spaces. This role demands energy, pet passion, and customer focus in a dynamic retail setting with live animals.

Essential Physical Demands

Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, stoop, kneel. Exposed to pet hair, moderate noise, wet areas, and mechanical parts. Depth perception required; reasonable accommodations available.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences and resolve concerns across channels.
• Actively sell and schedule training classes per company guidelines.
• Maintain all training paperwork and educate store associates as SME.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness in training areas; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
• Recommend merchandise/services and assist other departments as needed.

Experience & Skills

Seek candidates with 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, composure under pressure, flexible scheduling, and strong communication/organizational skills. Pet handling experience a plus.
