Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this role combines hands-on animal interaction, customer education, and sales to drive training program success in a dynamic retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone.
• Ensure safe, clean training environments and respond to pet health emergencies.
• Maintain records, schedule classes, and train store associates on program benefits.
• Collaborate across departments while embodying our culture of recognition.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and strong communication skills. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
