Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. Key Responsibilities
- Lead training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent expectations and outcomes.
- Actively promote and sell group/private classes to boost enrollment.
- Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean/safe.
- Handle emergencies like sick pets, recommend services, and cross-train associates.
- Assist other departments and follow all policies.
Experience & Skills
Requires 1-2 years customer-facing retail, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer skills, composure under pressure, flexible availability, and strong communication. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments.
