Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart in Austell, GA, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement training per our proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pet training sessions, managing pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online.
- Drive sales by educating on curriculum benefits and recommending merchandise/services.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean, safe training environment.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
- Train associates as subject matter expert and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure. Strong communication, organization, and physical ability to lift 50+ lbs are essential. Thrive in a dynamic environment with live animals, moderate noise, and pet hair.
