Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and upholds our vision of exceptional pet care. Accredited through our Training Instructor Course, you'll actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safe, clean environments in our Austin store.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pet training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes and educate on curriculum benefits; recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain all training paperwork, schedules, and store cleanliness; handle sick/injured pets promptly.
• Act as subject matter expert, training associates and recognizing sales contributions.
• Assist other departments, follow policies, and foster a safe training area.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail/customer service experience, PetSmart Training accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, organization, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, animal exposure, and flexible scheduling for evenings/weekends/holidays. Depth perception and moderate noise tolerance required.
