Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at our Avon, IN store, you'll engage pet parents and their furry friends, delivering positive reinforcement-based training per PetSmart's proven curriculum. Actively promote classes, ensure safety, and contribute to store success while working flexibly across evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions, prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and outcomes.
• Proactively sell classes, educate on curriculum benefits, and recommend merchandise/services.
• Maintain clean, safe training areas; handle sick/injured pets with urgency, including vet transport.
• Manage scheduling, paperwork, and train associates as the pet training expert.
• Collaborate across departments, follow policies, and foster a recognition-driven culture.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Excel in high-pressure situations, computer proficiency, strong communication, and organization. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments. Flexibility is key.
