Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes through our proven curriculum. Based in Baltimore, MD, this role combines hands-on pet interaction, customer education, and sales to enhance the pet parenting experience in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, ensuring safe, positive experiences for pets and owners.
- Actively promote and sell group/private training sessions across channels.
- Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and paperwork with precision.
- Maintain clean training areas and respond to pet health emergencies.
- Collaborate with store team as training expert and assist other departments.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
