Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer in Bangor, Maine, you'll be the go-to expert for positive reinforcement training, delivering PetSmart's proven curriculum. Engage pet parents, sell classes, ensure safety, and foster joyful experiences for dogs and their humans. This role combines animal passion, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions while prioritizing pet parent satisfaction and pet outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone.
• Maintain clean, safe training areas and handle paperwork meticulously.
• Respond to pet health emergencies, including vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recognize team sales efforts, and embody PetSmart's values.

Experience & Skills

We're seeking accredited PetSmart Training Instructors with 1-2 years retail experience. Key traits include strong communication, composure under pressure, organizational prowess, and flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands involve lifting 50+ lbs, standing for shifts, and comfort around pets in moderate-noise settings. Proficiency in computers is essential.
