Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for pets and people while upholding company values in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct training sessions over phone, in-person, or online, managing pet parent experiences and outcomes.
• Actively promote and sell group/private training classes across channels.
• Maintain all training records, schedules, and store cleanliness/safety standards.
• Recognize sick/injured pets and coordinate vet transport if needed.
• Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, and handling live animals in a pet-filled environment. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
