Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. You'll be the go-to expert in your Barrie store, ensuring safe, fun experiences that strengthen pet-family bonds while upholding our mission, values, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-person, phone, and online training sessions with exceptional pet parent experiences.
- Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain all training records, schedules, and store-area cleanliness.
- Handle sick/injured pets promptly, including vet transport if needed.
- Collaborate across departments, recommend merchandise, and foster a culture of belonging.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility are essential. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
