Role Overview
As a Pet Trainer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with PetSmart's vision. Actively promote and sell classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online, resolving concerns promptly.
- Drive sales of training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate paperwork, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend merchandise, and assist other departments as needed.
- Serve as training expert, recognizing associates and fostering a culture of recognition.
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), work in pet hair-filled environments with moderate to high noise. Exposure to live animals is daily.
Experience & Skills
- 1-2 years customer-focused retail experience.
- PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation required.
- Strong communication, organization, computer proficiency, and composure under pressure.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays.
