Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers expert training services, engages pet parents, and drives positive outcomes through our proven curriculum. This role combines animal handling, customer education, sales, and store support to ensure safe, fun experiences for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead training classes, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively promote and sell training programs while educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain paperwork, schedules, and a clean/safe training environment.
- Handle sick/injured pets, recommend services, and assist other departments as needed.
- Foster a culture of belonging by recognizing team contributions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise.
