Role Overview
PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our proven curriculum. This role ensures safe, fun experiences for pets and people while upholding our mission to do Anything for Pets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead group and private training sessions, managing pet parent interactions via phone, in-person, or online.
- Actively promote and sell training packages, educating on curriculum benefits.
- Maintain accurate records, schedule classes, and keep training areas clean and safe.
- Handle emergencies like sick/injured pets, recommending vet care as needed.
- Collaborate across departments, recognize team sales efforts, and embody our Belonging culture.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years retail experience, PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation, computer proficiency, strong communication, and composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing, and exposure to pets/noise. Flexible scheduling for evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
