Role Overview

As a Pet Trainer at PetSmart, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, delivering positive training experiences aligned with our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Actively promote and sell our curriculum-based classes while ensuring safety and exceptional service in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding pet parent experiences via phone, in-person, or online; address concerns promptly.
• Actively sell training classes and educate on curriculum benefits.
• Maintain all training paperwork and schedule classes per company guidelines.
• Ensure safe, clean training areas; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet if needed.
• Recommend merchandise/services, assist other departments, and recognize team contributions.

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and accreditation in the PetSmart Training Instructor Course. Proficiency in computer apps, strong communication, organizational skills, composure under pressure, and schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays) are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet environments.
