Role Overview

PetSmart's Pet Trainer delivers positive reinforcement-based training classes, engages pet parents, and drives sales of our comprehensive pet training programs. This role combines animal expertise, customer service, and sales in a dynamic retail environment, ensuring safe, fun learning for dogs and their owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead group and private training sessions following PetSmart's accredited curriculum
• Actively promote and sell training packages in-store, online, and via phone
• Handle pet parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback professionally
• Maintain clean, safe training areas and manage all related documentation
• Recognize team contributions and assist in other store departments as needed

Experience & Skills

Ideal candidates bring 1-2 years of customer-focused retail experience and PetSmart Training Instructor accreditation. Proficiency in computers, strong communication, organizational skills, and flexibility for evenings/weekends are essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and handling live animals in a moderate-noise environment.
